Welcome to Stepping Stones, I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Jamie Ker and I’m the proud owner and exclusive tutor of Stepping Stones Tutoring and Literacy Consulting.

I am originally from Canada but made the permanent move to England in 2014. I am a wife and a mother to a sweet little boy. Whilst in Canada I graduated from university with a degree in Education and have spent the last 13 years teaching primary school. Along with my classroom role I have also held the positions of KS1 lead, head of mathematics, phonics coordinator and literacy consultant. I am passionate about learning and helping children achieve their full potential. I believe that all children learn in different ways and at different paces. That is why I strive to create a welcoming, exciting and inclusive environment for learning. I want children to feel happy and proud of their learning and grow in their confidence through their session with me.

After the birth of my son I made the very difficult decision to step away from classroom teaching. I am so excited and fortunate to be able to offer 1:1 tutoring so I can continue to help make a difference through education.
